This is an email from the organizer of the San Diego Ron Paul Meetup group…

Before I tell you why Dr. Paul did in fact score an incredible victory by receiving 10 percent of the Iowa Republican Caucus vote, please read this quote from Thomas Jefferson. “I have sworn upon the altar of God, eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man”.

To appreciate Paul’s Iowa Victory we must understand what Jefferson meant by tyranny over the mind of man. If you understand how a tyranny over the mind is created and how propaganda works to tyrannies ends then you begin to understand the magnitude of the Ron Paul Victory in the first in the Nation’s Caucuses.

Where are; Joseph Biden, Duncan Hunter, Sam Brownback, Dennis Kucinich, Chris Dodd, Mike Gravel, Bill Richardson, and Tom Tancredo? Answer. They don’t show up on the radar or they are out of the race. Why? The media has virtually ignored all of them. Oh sure they got a token here and there but the thousands of hits that each city receives each day referring to Election 2008 on the news casts reference Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, John Edwards, Mike Huckabee, Rudy Giuliani, Fred Thompson, Mitt Romney and John McCain. That’s it.

This is a programming upon our minds. This type of “news” reporting communicates here are the candidates that can win and it works 99 percent of the time. This time the programming has a crack in its armor and that crack is the Ron Paul Revolution. In spite of receiving the very same treatment as the aforementioned candidates by the media, Ron Paul’s star shines bright. Why is that? Why was the Ron Paul Revolution able to break the tyranny upon the minds of so many? I suggest to you it might there are thousands upon thousands of us who swear an eternal hostility against tyranny upon the mind of man as did Jefferson.

Ron Paul got an incredible 10 percent of the Iowa Republican Caucus vote in spite of this media/political party bosses’ tyranny. Just 1 percent vote total removed from both McCain and Thompson and put in Paul’s total would have created a virtual three-way tie for third place. I am convinced if Paul had not been deleted from the daily newscast he would have finished in a solid third place.

Ron Paul has shattered the matrix of the tyranny of the mainstream media. Now Fox News has excluded Ron Paul from an upcoming debate. Will you take this tyranny lying down America?

Thanks for the Victory Ron Paul

Mike Benoit

  3. Ron Paul is an oddity at best in a crowded field of Bozo candidates on the Republican side.

The “new media” factor is way way way over hyped. It’s significance is probably no more than 5% points or so. Yes I am pulling that out of my ass… but we shall see going forward.

I suspect that Paul, hovering around 5 – 7% in New Hampshire will clip double digets again. ( and there was great rejoicing, prayers, pontificating and spin doctering across the blogospehre) Maybe as High as 12%.

Now the other factor (REAL POLITICS) is that Republican enthusiasm is abismal at best, Independents and Democrats are fired up… and of course the Paul-ites. So as a Republican running on the abbismal turn out… this actuall INFLATES his numbers maybe another 2%. So at a wash he … again…. is a novelty canditate.

As the republican party slaughters itself on the way to the convention – there is a real possibility of a third party candidacy either by Paul, or by Bloomberg, or by both.

No matter how you slice, dice, cut, the mustard – the Republicans are in such a deep deep pile of their own dung that they are almost unable to breath. Which of course they will then continue to lament and use as further ammunition to annihilate themselves.

Votes count – blog hits DO NOT. there will be much of both ….

    that is for certain.

  4. Good post Mike! Now, the thing to watch out for will be an attempt to control the internet. There will likely be something apparently innocuous and widely approved, such as making blogs, etc. which “harm our children” of great concern (and who wouldn’t be concerned?) Then the next obvious step, of equal approval, of passing a law to the effect that it would be illegal for anyone to be involved in any internet activity which would “harm our children”. Of course, what then could not be taken as being harmful to children? How about “deceptive” or “misleading” political views? You get the drift.

  5. I have to kind of agree with Underdog.

Just because Ron Paul pulls in supporters does not say he’s on a roll or that he’s making a difference. What it says to me is that there are enough people who believe that getting Ron Paul into the Presidential election will create havock, so they’ll stand behind him just for that purpose.

I don’t think enough people believe in Ron Paul to make a dent in the rest of society as a whole except to showcase that Ron Paul is an oddity at best.

  6. Actually, I would expect Paul to do well in NH. Better than he’s polling, I would think. (BTW, I live in NH and don’t support Ron Paul.)

I do think that calling a 5th place finish in Iowa a win takes a lot more optimism than I’ve ever been able to manage, but I’ve certainly seen less-convincing spin (such as Romney saying he was happy with second after spending a gazillion dollars).

  7. “Harm our Children”
Check out the bill that is going to pass congress. HR 1955 will allow arrests for thought crimes and censorship of the internet. They are looking to put their many many many concentration-prison-labor camps to use. For more info check out my few blogs. RON PAUL 08 revive our republic!
