The biggest lawsuit ever filed

South Carolina Inmate Jonathan Riches Hits Michael Vick With ‘$63,000,000,000 Billion Dollar’ Lawsuit Alleging Al Qaeda Ties.

from Fox News:

Riches alleges that Vick stole two white mixed pit bull dogs from his home in Holiday, Fla., and used them for dogfighting operations in Richmond, Va. The complaint goes on to allege that Vick sold the dogs on eBay and “used the proceeds to purchase missiles from the Iran government.”
The complaint also alleges that Vick would need those missiles because he pledged allegiance to Al Qaeda in February of this year.
Michael Vick has to stop physically hurting my feelings and dashing my hopes,” Riches writes in the complaint.

This is not a typo in Fox news. He actually wrote $63,000,000,000 billion.

It isn’t quite a gazillion but that is a lot of cash! What do you call 63,000,000,000,000,000,000? You could call it $63 thousand trillion or $63 sextillion, but that is more money than exists in the entire world today. The GDP for the entire world is estimated at $48.2 trillion by the World Bank. Mr. Riches is only asking for 1,300 times more money than existed in the 2006.

I suppose he could be preparing for a long legal battle and is planning ahead for inflation. But seriously, even I am not that pessimistic!

I wonder if he will settle for a quadrillion?

So here is what I am going to do. If he wins, I am going to sue Mr. Riches for the mental confusion he has put me through in trying to wrap my head around this number. Maybe I can net a cool $5 trillion for my efforts. I think that will help me get through my mental crisis. I might even give some to Larry.

  3. Gah! It’d be hillarious if he won though. It’d be like winning the lottery–of the world.
I’ll be sueing for something–I’ll come up with that one at a later date–if he wins too. I’m pretty sure everyone will.

I like how he wants it delivered by UPS. What do you think the shipping insurance on that would be?

    • if going by the value of gold at the time i posted this …. 1 troy ounce of gold = 1233.01 63,000,000,000/1233.01 = 51,094,476.1194150899 and so on. 16oz = 1 pound so 51,094,476.1194150899/16 = 3193404.7574634431..1oz = .9114583333 troy ounces so 3193404.7574634431x.9114583333 = 2910655.38 so $63,000,000,000 = 2910655.38 lbs. of gold… from zip code 19145 to 34690 it costs 2910656 lbs. of gold.. A 10 lb package = $47, something to ship from seattle to tampa so im going to just say $45.. i know you can ship in bulk for cheaper but i wasnt able to figure that out and this will make it more funny anyways… soo 2910656 lbs/10 = 291065.6 10 lb packages….round to 291066….291066×45=13,097,970… Therefore.. in order to ship 291066 10 lb packages of gold($63,000,000,000) it would cost $13,097,970!!! therefore he would only receive 62,986,902,030… tragic…let me know if anything i did was wrong or if any calculations were off

  4. Never underestimate the power of a jury to really screw things up and rule in favor of the plaintiff (Rich) and award him the whole sum. We can only hope such a ruling is abrogated by an appeals court (on the grounds of abject stupidity by ALL parties). Still, it COULD happen. Juries are funny like that. He’d be the richest guy in the world – ’cause nobody else (not even Bill Gates) would have ANY money.
