Favorite quotes from Mao

Filed under: China — iknowkeith @ 9:16 am

Here is a collection of quotes from Mao Zedong, leader of the People’s Republic of China from 1949 to 1974.

    – “A revolution is not a dinner party, or writing an essay, or painting a picture, or doing embroidery.”

“Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun.”

    – “Communism is not love. Communism is a hammer which we use to crush the enemy.”

    – “In waking a tiger, use a long stick.”

    – “Passivity is fatal to us. Our goal is to make the enemy passive.”

    — Mao Zedong

As you ponder these statements from the Chinese Communist Party’s founding leader, remember that:

  • the U.S. trade deficit has led to over 1 trillion USD held in China’s reserves.
  • The Beijing Olympics is next year
  • China has increased military spend by 14-29% a year since 1989.
  • “All Warfare is based on deception” – Sun Tzu

    2. China isn’t going to war with us.

If it did, that ‘1 trillion in reserves’ would be WORTHLESS.

Besides, it’s not a monolithic block of reserves anyway, it’s held in large part by private chinese investors. Who send their kids to live here. Go figure.

    4. Chinese strategy would be to increase their military to a level sufficient to wage a war on US and then demand the money that US owes them. When US can’t pay them, China would have a good reason to declare war on US and the international community will have no way of objecting.
