My wife and I bought pedometers to go with the Dr. Oz plan for weight loss and good health. The concept is you eat reasonable portions, avoid enriched flour and saturated fats and take at least 10,000 steps a day. Easy. I thought I did that already.
First day (Sunday) I maxed out at 6500 steps. This included a walk with the family downtown and playing tag with my 3 year old for 30 minutes. I didn’t expect the low number but it was a weekend so that is okay. I would make it up at work.
Monday was all of 7700 steps. Damn. I even parked in a distant lot and walked to lunch to boost my numbers. I was sure this would put me way over or at least to 10,000. But, no… only 7700 steps.
Today I left the pedometer at home. I knew I wasn’t walking too much today. I didn’t want to know.
So my conclusion is either 10,000 steps is a lot of walking or I am a lazy couch potato.
