China isn’t going to war with us.
If it did, that ‘1 trillion in reserves’ would be WORTHLESS.
Besides, it’s not a monolithic block of reserves anyway, it’s held in large part by private chinese investors. Who send their kids to live here. Go figure.

Chinese strategy would be to increase their military to a level sufficient to wage a war on US and then demand the money that US owes them. When US can’t pay them, China would have a good reason to declare war on US and the international community will have no way of objecting.
